Establishing strength together as a whole focused on achieving a greater good.

The clip shows us that Rachel Robinson, (wife of Jackie Robinson) played a very significate role in the Brooklyn Dodgers decision to select Robinson to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers.  Rachel was Robinson’s off the field teammate, that had his best interest at hand.

 

Together, they built a relationship finding comfort and peace within each other allowing them to withstand all of the negative energy.

Michael Jordan’s quote points out that as an individual Robinson had the ability to play the game, but collectively with teamwork and the support of Rachel, his teammates, and many others, Robinson withstood negative energy and overcome many obstacles.

 

Carl Lewis’s quote reminds us that despite Robinson’s talent as an athlete, it is through teamwork that he was able to fight the obstacles of racism and discrimination resulting in victories both on and off the field.
